BEEC Projects

Involving people in caring for the region’s ecology has always been an important part of BEEC’s mission. It is in the realm of participation that caring about nature leads to caring for nature, and a healthier environment for all.

Among BEEC’s past projects were:

  • Monitored water quality in the West River watershed for 10 years
  • Monitored water quality on the Whetstone and Sacketts Brooks
  • Riverbank stabilization plantings along the West River
  • Gathered data for the Vermont Reptile and Amphibian Atlas Project

Ongoing Projects:

  • Volunteers search for rare eastern racers and Fowler’s toads
  • Salamander Crossing Brigades Project
  • Conservation Planning
  • Dummerston Vernal Pool Inventory
